FAQ
How do I read a chord chart?
Vertical lines are strings (low E on the left for guitar), horizontal lines are frets. Dots show where to press, numbered by finger (1 index … 4 pinky); × means don't play, ○ means open, a bar means a barre, and a number on the left is the starting fret.
What does “no 5th” mean?
Chords with four or more notes are hard to fit on guitar, so the fifth—least important to the chord's sound—is often left out.
Where do the voicings come from?
The tool searches each position for fingerings that contain all chord tones, drops ones that need too many fingers or too wide a stretch, and ranks the rest by difficulty.
