FAQ
Which intervals should beginners start with?
Perfect 4th, perfect 5th, octave, and major vs minor 3rd are the easiest to tell apart. Add 2nds, 6ths, 7ths and the tritone later.
Any tricks for remembering intervals?
Link each to a familiar tune: an ascending perfect 5th is the start of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”; an ascending perfect 4th starts “Here Comes the Bride”.
How long should I practise?
10–15 minutes a day over several weeks works better than long sessions. Expand the pool once you're above 90%.
